Walter Koenig is best known for his scene-stealing role as the ïve 17-year-old prodigy and USS Enterprise navigator Pavel Chekov on the original ‘Star Trek’ television series and its first seven films. Appearing in the second and third seasons, he was cast to appeal to the younger generations, most especially to girls, as he was reminiscent of Davy Jones or The Beatles or Monkees members.
Koenig has had a prolific career spanning over six decades, with notable appearances in television shows such as “The Mod Squad”, “The Rockford Files”, and “Babylon 5”, as well as movies like “The Omega Man”, “The Questor Tapes”, and “Innerspace”. He has also written several episodes of “Star Trek: The Animated Series” and “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, and produced the science fiction series “Babylon 5”.
