Yvonne L. Andrews, professionally known as Tina Andrews, is a multi-talented American artist who has worked as an actress, television producer, screenwriter, author, and playwright. She first gained recognition for her portrayal of Valerie Grant in the NBC soap opera “Days of Our Lives” between 1975 and 1977. However, Andrews is best known for her writing and producing work, particularly in the miniseries “Sally Hemings: An American Scandal” (2000), as well as her contributions to the films “Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis” (2000) and “Why Do Fools Fall in Love” (1998). In 1983, she made history as the first African-American woman to write, produce, and star in her own network television show, “Amanda’s,” which aired on ABC. Andrews also penned the play “Black Medea,” a modern adaptation of the Greek myth of Medea, and serves as a board member for the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA).
