Timothy Peake, a former Army Air Corps officer, is a renowned British astronaut who rose to fame as the first Briton to visit the International Space Station (ISS) in 2015. He is best known for his six-month mission with the European Space Agency, during which he conducted a spacewalk to repair the ISS’s power supply. Peake has also participated in NASA’s Aquarius undersea research habitat and worked as a test pilot and instructor.
A passionate adventurer, Peake has authored books such as “The Astronaut Selection Test Book” and “Hello, is This Planet Earth?” He is dedicated to promoting education and founded the Tim Peake Space Scholarship to help disadvantaged students pursue STEM careers. Furthermore, he has partnered with the UK Space Agency and the Prince’s Trust to support youth programs.
An interesting fact about Timothy Peake is that he became the first official British astronaut to perform a spacewalk during his 2016 mission to the ISS.
