Theodore Robert Bundy, commonly known as Ted Bundy, was a notorious American serial killer, rapist, and necrophile who terrorized young women and girls during the 1970s. He was infamous for his heinous acts of sexual assault and murder, with at least 30 confirmed victims across seven states between 1974 and 1978. Bundy’s charm and intelligence enabled him to lure his victims to their demise.
Some of his most well-known crimes include the abduction of Carol DaRonch, the Chi Omega murders, and his highly publicized trial and execution. Bundy’s life and crimes have been portrayed in various books, television shows, and films, such as “The Stranger Beside Me,” “Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes,” and “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.”
Interestingly, Bundy worked at a suicide hotline in the early 1970s, where he was known for his empathy and compassion towards callers grappling with suicidal thoughts. It is speculated that he may have exploited this experience to manipulate his victims, gaining their trust before brutally attacking them.
