She rose to fame as the co-founder and co-host of The PTL Club with her then-husband, Jim Bakker. Tammy Faye was recognized for her unique style and heavy makeup, and later became a vocal advocate for the LGBTQ+ community while also speaking out against televangelist scandals. Her diverse career included hosting shows like Tammy Faye’s House Party and Tammy Faye: Death Defying, as well as participating in reality TV programs such as The Surreal Life and RuPaul’s Drag U. Additionally, she authored several books, including Tammy: Telling It My Way and I Will Survive…and You Will Too!. Sadly, Tammy Faye Messner passed away in 2007 after a battle with cancer.
