Tamara Geva, a Russian-American dancer, actress, and choreographer, gained prominence for her performances with the Ballets Russes in Paris during the 1920s and her role in the 1936 Broadway production of On Your Toes. She was also acclaimed for her innovative contributions to choreography and her efforts to modernize American dance.
Geva participated in several other distinguished productions, such as Dancing in the Dark, The Golden Apple, and Babes in Arms. She was married to renowned photographer Edward Steichen, with whom she had two children. Steichen extensively documented Geva’s career through his photography.
