With a career that began in the late 1980s, he has released more than 25 albums and established himself as a leading figure in the genre. Chapman’s accolades include 5 Grammy Awards and 58 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. Among his most well-known works are “The Great Adventure,” “Dive,” and “Cinderella.” He has also contributed music to films and television shows like “The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride” and “Runaway Bride.” In his book, “Between Heaven and the Real World: My Story,” Chapman shares his personal journey. In 2023, he performed “Live Out Loud” on tour in Lakeland, Florida.
