He had an illustrious 14-season career in the NFL, playing for the Seattle Seahawks, and is regarded as one of the all-time greatest wide receivers. Largent held all major career NFL receiving records upon his retirement, with 13,089 receiving yards and 100 touchdown catches. He was selected for the Pro Bowl seven times and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. Largent was also a member of the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team.
After his football career, Largent served as a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Oklahoma’s 1st congressional district from 1994 to 2002. He was actively involved in various charitable organizations, such as the National Wildlife Federation and World Vision.
