Under his leadership, Microsoft launched the Xbox gaming console and acquired Skype, among other initiatives. Ballmer is also known for his philanthropic endeavors and ownership of the NBA team, the Los Angeles Clippers. He holds degrees in mathematics and economics from Harvard University, which he earned in 1977.
