Stephen Robert Herek, born on November 10, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas, is an accomplished American film director and producer. He gained recognition for directing popular comedy films such as “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and “The Mighty Ducks”. In addition to these, Herek has directed numerous successful movies and television shows, including “Critters” (1986), “Mr. Holland’s Opus” (1995), “101 Dalmatians” (1996), and “Into the Blue” (2005). His accolades comprise a Prism Award and a DGA Award nomination for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Children’s Programs. Initially starting his career in the film industry as a boom operator, Herek eventually transitioned into directing and producing.
