Shawn Hook is a Canadian singer-songwriter known for his pop and electronic-inspired music. He rose to fame with his hit song “Sound of Your Heart” which charted in the top 20 of the Canadian Hot 100. Hook has also released other popular tracks such as “Reminding Me” featuring Vanessa Hudgens and “Never Let Me Let You Go”. He has collaborated with several artists and has been nominated for several awards including the Juno Awards and SOCAN Awards.
According to an interview with E-Talk, Shawn Hook’s name was inspired by the character of Sean Hunter from the television series “Boy Meets World”. He changed the spelling to “Shawn” to match the American singer Shawn Mullins whose music he was heavily influenced by.
Shawn Hook was originally signed to Kreative Kontrol, an independent record label founded by Melanie Berry and Larry Wanagas, before signing with Hollywood Records and Universal Music Canada.
