Sharon Disney, the adopted daughter of Walt and Lillian Disney, was an American philanthropist and actress. Although she mostly kept her distance from the entertainment industry, she did have a small role in the film “Johnny Tremain.” Sharon’s most notable contribution was her involvement in the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. She also supported organizations such as the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the California Institute of the Arts. Other significant works and achievements include funding for the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater, support for the Disney Cancer Center, and financing the painting conservation studio at the J. Paul Getty Museum. Sharon Disney passed away on February 16, 1993, due to complications from breast cancer.
