Alexander “Sasha” Hedges Steinberg, also known as Sasha Velour, is a multifaceted American drag queen, artist, actor, and producer based in Brooklyn, New York. Velour rose to prominence after winning the ninth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Among their notable works are the drag revue NightGowns and the one-queen show “Smoke & Mirrors.” Additionally, Velour made history in 2019 as the first drag queen to headline at The New York City Ballet in a performance titled “The Red Shoes.”
