Ruth Elizabeth Becker, also known as Ruth Becker Blanchard, was born on October 28, 1899, in Guntur, India. At the age of 12, she became one of the youngest passengers on the Titanic. After surviving the tragic sinking on April 15, 1912, Ruth pursued a career in teaching in Michigan and actively participated in commemorating the disaster’s victims. She attended several Titanic Historical Society conventions and was recognized as one of the oldest Titanic survivors. Ruth Becker Blanchard passed away at the age of 90 in Santa Barbara, California, in 1990.
