Rosemarie “Rose” Hathaway is the protagonist of Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series. A dhampir, half-human, half-vampire hybrid, Rose trains to become a guardian to protect her best friend, Lissa Dragomir, a Moroi vampire princess. The series follows Rose’s journey through love, friendship, and the dangerous world of vampires. In 2014, Zoey Deutch portrayed Rose in a film adaptation of the first book.
Born in Montana, USA, on May 28, 1986, Rose was raised in Swan’s Reach by her parents, Ibrahim and Janine Hathaway, alongside her younger sister, Jill. She attended St. Vladimir’s Academy, a boarding school for Moroi and Dhampirs, graduating in 2006.
Rose’s notable achievements include defeating numerous Strigoi (evil vampires), showcasing her exceptional fighting skills and tracking abilities. Her bravery and dedication have earned her several awards, including the prestigious St. Vladimir’s Academy Guardian of the Year award.
In her personal life, Rose maintains a romantic relationship with her mentor, Dimitri Belikov, a Dhampir Guardian, and shares a close friendship with Christian Ozera, a Moroi and Lissa’s boyfriend.
