Ron Moody, born Ronald Moodnick on January 8, 1924, was a multifaceted English artist known for his work as an actor, composer, singer, and writer. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Fagin in the 1968 film adaptation of “Oliver Twist,” earning him a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination. Moody reprised this role in the 1983 Broadway revival of “Oliver!”, which garnered him a Tony Award nomination. In addition to his success with “Oliver!”, Moody appeared in other notable works such as “Murder Most Foul” (1964), “Summer Holiday” (1963), and “The Twelve Chairs” (1970). A talented musician, Moody often incorporated his musical abilities into his acting performances. He passed away on June 11, 2015, at the age of 91.
