Roman Gabriel, a former American football quarterback, played for the Los Angeles Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles. As the first Asian-American starting quarterback in the NFL, he was also the first of Filipino-American descent. Gabriel was a four-time Pro Bowler and was named the NFL Most Valuable Player in 1969. Apart from his football career, he served in the United States Army National Guard, participated in numerous charitable organizations, and worked as a TV analyst for college football games.
