Robin Rene Roberts, an American television broadcaster, is best known as the popular host of ABC’s Good Morning America. Before joining ABC, she worked as an ESPN sportscaster for over five years. Although she was offered a scholarship to play women’s college basketball at Louisiana State University, Roberts chose not to accept it. In 2007, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in 2012, she faced a diagnosis of MDS. Apart from her work on Good Morning America, Roberts made history as the first woman of color to host the TV game show “Jeopardy!” In 2013, she publicly came out as a lesbian and acknowledged her long-time girlfriend, Amber Laign.
