He gained fame for creating the “Believe It or Not!” cartoon feature, which highlighted strange facts and peculiarities from across the globe. Some of his other significant works include “The New Believe It or Not,” “The Big Little Book of Believe It or Not!,” and “The Believe It or Not Story.” Additionally, Ripley hosted TV shows like “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” and authored several books. As a world traveler, he amassed a collection of unique artifacts during his journeys. Ripley passed away on May 27, 1949, in New York City.
