Frederick Jay Rubin, commonly known as Rick Rubin, is a renowned American record producer who has significantly influenced popular music. While studying at New York University, he co-founded Def Jam Recordings, which played a pivotal role in popularizing hip-hop. Rubin has collaborated with legendary artists such as Johnny Cash, the Beastie Boys, and Metallica, and has produced notable works like Adele’s “21” and albums for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In addition to Def Jam, he also established the record label American Recordings. Throughout his career, Rubin has received eight Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.
