Richard Timothy Smith, also known as Richard O’Brien, is a multi-talented British-New Zealand actor, writer, musician, and television presenter. He gained widespread recognition for creating the iconic stage musical, The Rocky Horror Show, in 1973, which later became the cult classic film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. O’Brien’s diverse career also features his work on the 1981 book and music for Shock Treatment, as well as his voice acting role as Lawrence Fletcher in Disney’s “Phineas and Ferb”. Additionally, he hosted the popular television show, The Crystal Maze. O’Brien remains an influential figure in the entertainment world, with his creations continuing to captivate fans globally.
