Randy Rhoads, an American guitarist renowned for his work with Ozzy Osbourne, was highly regarded for his technical skills and unique playing style that influenced numerous guitarists. As the co-founder and original guitarist of the heavy metal band Quiet Riot, Rhoads made only two studio albums with Osbourne before his untimely death in 1982. These albums are considered heavy metal classics, and Rhoads was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. Some of his other notable achievements include being voted “Best New Talent” by Guitar Player readers in 1981, his unaccompanied live solos, and a posthumous Grammy nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. A classically trained guitarist, Rhoads studied at the Musonia School of Music and incorporated classical elements into his playing throughout his career. He is recognized as one of the most significant guitarists of all time.
