Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, who was born in Athens, was a British royal and the spouse of Prince George, Duke of Kent. She was recognized for her philanthropic efforts with organizations such as the British Red Cross and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. During WWII, Marina served as a nurse for the British Red Cross. She was also a style icon and actively participated in ceremonial duties as a member of the British Royal Family. An accomplished watercolor artist, Princess Marina held an exhibition of her work in 1934, with some of her paintings later becoming part of the Royal Collection. Notably, she was the last foreign princess to marry into the British royal family.
