Philip Hamilton, the firstborn child of Alexander Hamilton, was a prominent American lawyer and military officer who contributed significantly to the establishment of the United States. As a captain, he was involved in the Quasi-War with France and later participated in the War of 1812. In addition to his military service, Philip worked as an attorney in New York City. Unfortunately, his life was cut short in 1801 when he was fatally wounded in a duel with George Eacker. Notably, Philip was the eldest son of Alexander Hamilton, a founding father of the United States and the country’s first Secretary of the Treasury.
