Paula Poundstone is an American stand-up comedian, author, actor, interviewer, and commentator who rose to fame in the late 1980s through a series of one-hour HBO comedy specials. She is well-known for her smart, observational humor and exceptional spontaneous wit. Poundstone has appeared in numerous HBO specials, such as “Cats, Cops and Stuff” and “Paula Poundstone Goes to Harvard.”
In addition to her comedy work, she provided backstage commentary during the 1992 presidential election on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and is a regular panelist on NPR’s comedy news quiz, “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!” She also hosts the podcast “Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone.”
