Orrin Hatch, an American attorney and politician, served as a US Senator from Utah for over 40 years before retiring. As a prominent conservative figure, he was known for his work on judiciary and tax policy, as well as his ability to collaborate across party lines. Some of his significant accomplishments include co-sponsoring the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the Music Modernization Act in 2018. Hatch, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 88, was the longest-serving Republican senator in history and left behind a legacy of public service. In addition to his political career, he made appearances in the movies “Traffic” and “Murphy Brown.” His death marked the end of a distinctive GOP voice in the Senate.
