The late Neil Peart, renowned Rush drummer, was celebrated for his intricate and technically proficient drumming style, earning him a reputation as one of rock history’s greatest drummers. As an accomplished author, Peart penned several books, such as his memoir “Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road” and “The Masked Rider: Cycling in West Africa.” He also produced solo albums like “Burning for Buddy: A Tribute to the Music of Buddy Rich” and “The Anatomy of a Drum Solo.” Throughout his career, Peart received numerous accolades, including induction into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame and a lifetime achievement award from the Society of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers of Canada. An avid motorcyclist, he documented his journeys in “Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road.” Peart was also a passionate ice hockey fan, supporting the St. Louis Blues and Toronto Maple Leafs. Sadly, he passed away on January 7, 2020, at 67 years old after a lengthy battle with brain cancer.
