Nancy Wilson, an American singer, songwriter, and actress, gained prominence in the 1960s with her versatile jazz, pop, and soul music styles. She is best remembered for hits such as “How Glad I Am,” “Face It Girl, It’s Over,” and “Guess Who I Saw Today.” Wilson’s career spanned over five decades, during which she appeared in various television shows and movies like “Hawaii Five-O” and “The Cosby Show.” She earned three Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame.
In 1960, Capitol Records signed Wilson, and her debut single, “Guess Who I Saw Today,” became an instant success. This led to the release of five albums between April 1960 and July 1962, starting with her first album, Like in Love, which showcased her Rhythm and Blues talent. Wilson was a vocal advocate for civil rights and women’s rights and was known for her philanthropic efforts, supporting numerous charities throughout her career. She passed away in 2018 at the age of 81.
