Nancy Kerrigan, born in 1969, is an American former figure skater and Olympic medalist. She gained international recognition in the early 1990s after winning the bronze medal at the 1991 World Figure Skating Championships and later capturing the silver medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics, despite a notorious assault on her knee prior to the competition.
