Monica Barladeanu, also known as Monica Dean, is a Romanian actress and model best known for her roles in “The Death of Mr. Lazarescu,” “Diaz – Don’t Clean Up This Blood,” “Angel of Evil,” “Of Snails and Men,” and “Caved In: Prehistoric Terror.” Other notable works include “Second in Command,” “Francesca,” and “Lost.”
Monica initially planned to become a kindergarten teacher and even attended a local high school in Romania to prepare for this career. However, she changed her mind and pursued law instead. She later enrolled in the National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest, where she studied acting.
Monica’s film career began in 1995, and she has since appeared in numerous Romanian and international films. She has also had a successful career in television, starring in several Romanian TV series.
Monica has received numerous awards for her work, including the Gopo Award for Best Actress and the Transilvania International Film Festival Award for Best Actress. She was also nominated for the European Film Award for Best Actress.
In addition to her acting career, Monica is a polyglot, speaking fluent Romanian, English, French, and Italian. She is also a talented singer and has released several albums. In 2008, she was named one of the “50 Most Beautiful People in the World” by People magazine.
