Michael Hodges, an English film director, screenwriter, and playwright, was best known for directing the 1971 film “Get Carter” and the 1980 science fiction film “Flash Gordon.” He received the Critics’ Circle Theatre Award for Most Promising Playwright in 1981 for “The Watcher.” Besides his notable works, Hodges supported the charity Prisoners Abroad and was also a novelist. He passed away in 2022.
