Michelle Wie West, born on October 11, 1989, in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a professional golfer who made a remarkable impact on the sport at a young age. She began playing golf at the age of four and turned professional at the age of 15 in 2005.

Wie West achieved numerous accolades throughout her career. She won the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship in 2003 and 2004, becoming the youngest player to achieve this feat. In 2005, she became the youngest player to qualify for the LPGA Tour.

Her breakthrough came in 2009 when she won her first LPGA tournament, the Samsung World Championship. She went on to win five LPGA tournaments in total. Wie West also represented the United States in the Solheim Cup multiple times and won the bronze medal in the individual competition at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

In addition to her golfing achievements, Wie West is known for her philanthropic efforts. She serves as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and has her own clothing line, “Michelle Wie by XOXO.” She is also an avid surfer and snowboarder.

In 2019, Wie West married former NBA player Jonnie West, and they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Makenna Kamalei Yoona West, in 2020. The family resides in Jupiter, Florida.
