Martin Garrix, born Martijn Gerard Garritsen on May 14, 1996, in Amstelveen, Netherlands, has been passionate about music from an early age. At just eight years old, he began taking piano lessons, but his interest shifted towards electronic music after discovering Tiësto’s performance at the Olympic Games in Athens. To further develop his skills as a producer and DJ, Garrix received formal music education at the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht, Netherlands.

Garrix’s career took off in 2012 when his track “Animals” became a global hit, topping charts in several countries and earning him international acclaim. He subsequently released successful singles such as “Wizard,” “Tremor,” and “In the Name of Love,” collaborating with renowned artists like Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha, and Khalid. In 2016, Garrix founded his own record label, STMPD RCRDS, to support and promote emerging talents in the electronic music scene.

At the age of 17, Garrix made history by becoming the youngest person to hold the number one spot on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list in 2016.
