Marie Curie, a Polish-born French physicist, was a trailblazing scientist renowned for her revolutionary work on radioactivity. She holds the distinction of being the first woman to receive a Nobel Prize and remains the only woman to have won the prestigious award in two separate fields – Physics in 1903 and Chemistry in 1911. Curie’s most notable accomplishments include the discovery of two previously unknown elements, polonium and radium, as well as her significant contributions to the advancement of X-ray technology. She also established the Curie Institutes in Paris and Warsaw. To this day, Curie’s life and achievements continue to inspire and shape the scientific community.
