Larry English, a former American football player, gained recognition as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL), playing for the San Diego Chargers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was drafted by the Chargers in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft after playing college football as a defensive end at Northern Illinois University. English was known for his impressive pass-rushing abilities and was named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2008. He also received two First-Team All-MAC selections during his college career.
