Kerri Strug, a retired American gymnast, rose to fame as part of the 1996 US Women’s Olympic Gymnastics team, also known as the Magnificent Seven. She is most remembered for her incredible vault performance on a sprained ankle, which secured the team’s gold medal victory. As a two-time Olympian, Strug won both gold and bronze medals and became a five-time Pan American Games champion in 1991 and 1995. She made appearances on TV shows like Beverly Hills, 90210 and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and delivered motivational speeches to various organizations.
In 2023, a biopic called “Perfect” was announced, featuring Thomasin McKenzie as the lead, playing Kerri Strug. The film will depict Strug’s journey to becoming an Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast.
