Kathryn Hays (1934-2022) was a renowned American actress, most notably recognized for her 38-year portrayal of Kim Sullivan Hughes, the spirited matriarch on the daytime soap opera “As the World Turns.” Additionally, she gained fame for her role in the 1968 “Star Trek” episode “The Empath.” Hays had an accomplished career in episodic television, making numerous appearances throughout her lifetime. She was known for her signature ‘pixie’ haircut and was married to actor Glenn Ford from 1966-69. Hays passed away on March 25, 2022, at the age of 88.
