Katharine Hepburn was one of the greatest female stars of Classic Hollywood Cinema for her fierce and spirited personality. She took on various roles in different film genres. The actress started in Broadway and ventured out to films in the likes of ‘Woman of the Year’ (1942), ‘Adam’s Rib’ (1949), and ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner’ (1967).
She and all of her siblings were given their mother’s maiden name Houghton. Her first name was often misspelled as ‘Katherine’ and she was known to correct anyone who spelled it wrong.
The actress almost died by a plane propeller while she was avoiding the press in the airport.
