June Havoc, born Ellen Evangeline Hovick, was a multi-talented American actress, singer, and dancer who rose to fame in the mid-20th century for her performances in film and stage productions. She is best remembered for her role as Rose in the original Broadway production of “Gypsy”. Havoc’s other notable works include “Pal Joey”, “My Sister Eileen”, “The Story of Molly X”, and “Red Hot and Blue”.
In addition to her acting career, Havoc was a gifted writer, penning several books such as two autobiographies, “Early Havoc” and “More Havoc”, as well as novels like “The Wolverines” and “The Second Thief”. She also contributed to various productions as a writer and consultant.
