Johnny Unitas, often referred to as “Johnny U,” was a renowned American football quarterback who played for the Baltimore Colts from the 1950s to the 1970s. Widely regarded as one of the all-time greatest quarterbacks, Unitas led the Colts to a historic victory in the 1958 NFL championship game, famously known as the “Greatest Game Ever Played.” Throughout his career, he secured three NFL championships and was honored as the league’s Most Valuable Player in 1959, 1964, and 1967. Unitas was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and the Colts retired his number in recognition of his outstanding achievements.
