József Antal Eszterhás, commonly known as Joe Eszterhas, is a Hungarian-American writer who gained prominence in the 1990s as a highly sought-after screenwriter and author. He was renowned for selling his scripts for as much as $4 million each, making him the world’s most famous screenwriter at the time. Some of his most notable works include Flashdance, Basic Instinct, Nowhere to Run, Showgirls, and Jade. In addition to his screenwriting career, Eszterhas has authored six books, such as Hollywood Animal and American Rhapsody. Currently residing in Cleveland, Ohio, he is working on a novel titled Refugee.
