Jim Rash, an American actor, writer, and producer, is best known for portraying Dean Pelton in the NBC/Yahoo! sitcom Community. He received an Academy Award for co-writing the screenplay for the 2011 film The Descendants. As a member of the sketch comedy group The Groundlings, Rash developed his improvisational comedy skills. He has also had recurring roles in Reno 911!, That ’70s Show, and Will & Grace. Additionally, Rash has directed, written, and produced several episodes of Community.
