Billy Russo, also known as Jigsaw, first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #162 (1976) as a hitman and mob enforcer. After a brutal encounter with the Punisher, his face was left disfigured, and he adopted the name Jigsaw. He has since appeared in various comic book series, as well as the live-action TV series ‘The Punisher’ (2017-2019), where he is portrayed by Ben Barnes.
Russo was born on September 8, 1969, in Queens, New York City. He grew up in a privileged environment, attended exclusive schools, and excelled academically. Despite his success in the legal field, Russo felt unfulfilled and sought a more exciting life. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served in various combat zones, distinguishing himself as a fearless and skilled soldier.
After leaving the military, Russo became a mercenary and worked for various private security firms. He gained a reputation as a ruthless and efficient killer, earning the nickname “Jigsaw” due to the scars on his face. Russo is a complex and enigmatic character, known for his violent tendencies and lack of empathy. Despite his dark side, he is also intelligent, charismatic, and possesses a strong sense of loyalty to those he cares about.
