Jennifer Hudson rose to fame as a singer and actress after placing seventh in Season 3 of ‘American Idol.’ She gained critical acclaim for her portrayal of Effie White in the 2006 musical film ‘Dreamgirls,’ winning an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress.
