She initially embarked on her career as a fashion writer and columnist for the Daily Mail before being promoted to the fashion editor of the Evening Standard in 1971. Street-Porter has enjoyed a successful career in journalism and broadcasting, including a two-year stint as the editor of The Independent on Sunday. She has made numerous television appearances on shows such as Question Time and reality shows like I’m a Celebrity. In recognition of her contributions to journalism and broadcasting, she was awarded a CBE in 2016.
