Jack Kruschen was a Canadian-American character actor who appeared in more than 200 films, television shows, and stage productions. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Dr. Dreyfuss in the 1960 film “The Apartment,” earning him an Academy Award nomination. Some of his other notable works include “Judgment at Nuremberg,” “The Unsinkable Molly Brown,” and “The War of the Worlds.” Kruschen also received a Tony Award nomination for his role in the musical “Take Me Along” and an Emmy Award nomination for his appearance on “The Defenders.” A lover of dogs, he often brought his pets, including his trained Pekingese Maurice, to movie sets. Jack Kruschen passed away on April 2, 2002, at the age of 80.
