Helen DeMacque, also known as “Pepsi,” is a British pop singer and songwriter who rose to fame in the 1980s as part of the duo Pepsi & Shirlie, alongside her friend Shirlie Holliman. Born in London in 1958 to St. Lucian immigrants, DeMacque later joined the group Wham! as a singer/dancer, taking over from Dee C. Lee. After Wham! disbanded, she and Holliman formed their own act, Pepsi & Shirlie. In addition to her work with the duo, DeMacque enjoyed a successful solo career, including her hit single “Two People.” She has also acted in various productions and collaborated with musician Mike Oldfield.
