George Washington Carver was a pioneering agricultural scientist and inventor who transformed agriculture in the Southern United States. He created numerous products utilizing peanuts, sweet potatoes, and soybeans, and was instrumental in introducing new crops, promoting crop rotation and soil conservation, and mentoring future African American leaders. Carver, the first African American to earn a degree from Iowa State College, also authored several books. As an accomplished artist, he believed that art played a crucial role in understanding the natural world.
