Fred Dekker, an American screenwriter and film director, gained recognition for his cult classic horror comedy films Night of the Creeps and The Monster Squad, which he co-wrote with Shane Black. In addition to providing story ideas for House (1986) and Ricochet (1991), he directed and co-wrote RoboCop 3 alongside Frank Miller. Initially starting his career as an actor, Dekker later shifted his focus to screenwriting and directing, attending UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
