Frank Morgan (1890-1949) was a renowned American actor, best remembered for his portrayal of the title character in “The Wizard of Oz” (1939). With a career spanning over three decades, Morgan appeared in more than 100 films, including notable works such as “The Shop Around the Corner” (1940), “The Three Musketeers” (1948), “The Great Ziegfeld” (1936), “The Affairs of Cellini” (1934), and “The Human Comedy” (1943). His critically acclaimed performances earned him two Academy Award nominations. In addition to his acting career, Morgan was a skilled tennis player who participated in amateur tournaments in California.
